People
Meet the people behind SAGE Philippines.
For 2008, SAGE Philippines chose to work with the Junior Jaycees of Los Banos in organizing the Philippine SAGE Cup. We had so much fun working with this volunteer team of College students that we decided to work with them again for the SAGE Cup Philippines 2009. Besides, who can resist the beautiful scenery of magical Mount Makiling at the University of Philippines, Los Banos? The venue, itself, was enough to enthrall us, where it is the seat of Entrepreneurship and Agriculture to ensure food security in the Philippines.
SAGE Philippines is composed of young professionals from the business, nonprofit, and academic sectors of the working world.
SAGE Philippines is spearheaded by its Country Coordinator, Tess Garcia (tess@sagephilippines.org), a graduate of Political Economy from the University of Asia & the Pacific, Pasig City, Philippines. She is currently finishing her graduate degree in Creative Writing at the University of the Philippines while working on SAGE. She credits the Youth Employment Summits in Mexico and Kenya to have deepened her advocacy for youth in nation-building.
Dr. Ray Pangilinan (ray@sagephilippines.org) ensures the group’s development as its Chief Learning Officer. After earning his postgraduate at the University of Navarre in Spain, he has been teaching Human Resource and Business Ethics at the School of Management, University of Asia & the Pacific.
